Chandigarh Carnival at Leisure Valley every year

A 3-day carnival is held at the Leisure Valley at the open grounds in front of the Government Museum and Art Gallery, Sector 10, in December every year.

Beautiful, colorful and creative floats are made by the students of Government College of Art, Sector 10, which are taken around in tableaux in a procession passing the matka chowk and other areas with traditional Punjabi dholis adding conviviality to the whole atmosphere.

Chandigarh tourism holds the carnival to attract domestic and international tourist apart from keeping the environment in the city lively and happening. The celebrations provide ample opportunity for visitors and Tricity residents to participate in a variety of events and activities, and also purchase traditional handicrafts from other states. Various other events like vintage car exhibition, street plays, craft exhibition, tattoo making, sketch making and cultural performances are also held.
